About the workshops

 

Hi! My name is Anna Chan, and I started my journey in baking 10 years ago. After marriage, a stint as a secondary school teacher and two babies, I decided to combine my training as a teacher and experience as a home baker, and provide hands-on baking and decorating workshops for other amateur bakers.

Since then, I have had the honour of being featured in The New Paper, Straits Times, Uweekly and Mediacorp Channel 8. Thanks for Boostprints Educational, I have also written a cupcake recipe book: "Gorgeous Cupcakes for the Home Baker"

 

Sugar Inc™ Baking or Decorating Workshops are hands-on! Usually, a class would focus on either baking or decorating, or sometimes both if the duration permits. I believe that a hands-on experience will help you learn better! With all your senses engaged, you would truly enjoy your experience. .....

All workshops feature my original recipes and are designed to help you create delicious and beautiful baked goodies at home. Most workshops are held on weekends with a 3-5 hour duration depending on the difficulty level of the workshop.

 

Most workshops are suitable for beginners, while more experienced bakers enjoy coming back to us to pick up great recipes and new ideas or techniques. We have also hosted customers who fly in from Hong Kong, Indonesia, as well as expatriates living in Singapore. Children above 12 are welcome to sign up.

I write all my recipes with the home baker in mind and test them using home equipment. Workshops are conducted in English, with different workshops available each season. Workshop catologue. All workshops are currently conducted in my fully equipped airconditioned home studio, located in Block 936 Hougang St 92 (Hougang Avenue 9). If you drive, ample parking is available at the adjoining multi-story car park 946A. Directions

Buses that come right to our doorstep:

- 112 (Kovan MRT Exit B)

Alight in front of a shopping centre called 'Hougang Festival Market'. This building is also known as Central Place / Hougang Point on the road maps.

As I have chosen to specialise in the area of baking and decorating workshops, I do not sell cakes. Unfortunately, I am not able to do private or customised workshops due to schedule constraints.
